If you lost your password and can't log in to your Wikipedia account, there are a few options.

As long as your correct email address is on your Wikipedia account (distinct from your profile on Wiki Education Dashboard), you can initiate a password by entering your username or email address: https://auth.wikimedia.org/enwiki/wiki/Special:PasswordReset

I didn't receive the password reset email

If you aren't getting the password reset email, you might have included a typo or not entered an email at all when you set up your Wikipedia account. (Email is optional when creating a Wikipedia account, but as of 2025 you may be required to verify your account via email soon after creating it.)

In this case, you can contact Wikimedia Trust & Safety to request help restoring access to your account. In many cases, they can update the email address associated with your account, after which the normal password reset process will work. Send an email to "ca@wikimedia.org" to explain the situation and request help, and be sure to include your Wikipedia username. You will typically get a response within a few days.

As a last resort, you can create a new Wikipedia account and abandon the old one. You'll need to re-enroll in your course on Wiki Education's Dashboard. If you're an instructor for a current course, contact Wiki Education staff so you can be re-added as the instructor.
