How to Study Religion

What is religion? How should we study it? This course gives students the opportunity to ask the big, messy questions about religion, and to see how scholars know what they know about it. Students will learn key theoretical ideas and research methods, and then apply them in their own projects.

For the Wikipedia assignment, students will be asked to create a new page for a prominent female scholar of religion. I have crowdsourced a list of these scholars who do not have a page for students to choose from. However not everyone on the list may meet Wikipedia's notability requirements, so this is an issue the students will need to deal with.
