ANTH300W
This course (full title: Nature, Culture, & Theory: The Growth of Anthropology) is a core theory course required for all upper-division anthropology majors. It introduces and explores the history and changes in anthropological thought, from the origins of the discipline to current practice. It addresses theory across the traditional four-fields of anthropology: biological, archaeological, sociocultural, and linguistic anthropology. The culminating project is a review of the anthropological literature relevant to a given topic/issue of the student's choice, and with links to and comparisons with treatments of the topic by other disciplines.
