This Wikipedia project, builds on a key goal of 102—ensuring that that you understand that texts are effective because of their adherence to rhetorical expectations. This project asks you to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia readers and editors as your audience. You will, examine how scholars and research writers build their foundational knowledge of a topic, learn research strategies for locating, evaluating, and integrating reliable sources in ways that give your writing substance and credibility, and work with Wikipedia editors to complete a writing project that will support your research article.
First you will use the Wikipedia Modules to learn more about Wikipedia. Then you will choose a “stub” article that you are interested in and you will work with Wikipedia editors to complete a Wikipedia entry. This project will begin in week two and come to fruition in unit three. You will complete 12 Wikipedia modules, revise a stub article on your topic, and submit the finished piece for publication.
In order to earn full points (250pts) you must complete each module (10pts each) and make a significant contribution to the wiki article (50pts)
